PhD positions: call for applications
Call for PhD Applications XXXVI Cycle, A.Y 2020/2021, is now open. The Registration online procedure, will close without exception by 14.00 hours (Italian time) on 18 August 2020 PhD Courses will start on November 1st 2020 On-line applications shall be submitted exclusively through the online procedure from the day of publication of this Call on the University's Online Official Notice Board available on https://titulus-unibrescia.cineca.it/albo/ As SENSOR lab we are participating to the Doctorate in Information Engineering: curriculum in “Physical Sciences for Engineering”. We are interested in highly motivated students that can work on the preparation of nanomaterials (films, nanowires…) using vapour phase (sputtering, evaporation, thermal oxidation,…) or liquid phase (anodization, hydrothermal growth), on their structural, morphological and functional characterization (XRD, NanoRaman, TERS, AFM, SEM, UV-VIS, electrical, I-V, Kelvin probe measurements and gas tests). If you are interested and you would like to join our lab please write for further information to elisabetta.comini@unibs.it |
Special Issue "Sustainable Metal Oxide Materials for Sensing Applications"
We are pleased to invite authors to publish an
original research paper or a focused review to the following Special Issue on MDPI Chemosensors journal: "Sustainable Metal Oxide Materials for Sensing Applications"
Website: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/chemosensors/special_issues/SMOMSA Submission deadline: 15 February 2021 All papers will be peer-reviewed. All accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as they are accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Chemosensors is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI. Open access (unlimited and free access by readers) increases publicity and promotes more frequent citations, as indicated by several studies. Open access is supported by the authors and their institutes. An Article Processing Charge (APC) of CHF 1000 currently applies to all accepted papers. |

"ADVANCED MATERIALS INTERFACES" Cover!
SENSOR Laboratory is very proud to announce that one of our recent work "Chemical Vapor Deposition: Mn3O4 Nanomaterials Functionalized with Fe2O3 and ZnO: Fabrication, Characterization, and Ammonia Sensing Properties" by Lorenzo Bigiani, Dario Zappa, Chiara Maccato, Alberto Gasparotto, Cinzia Sada, Elisabetta Comini and Davide Barreca (Adv. Mater. Interfaces 24/2019) (https://doi.org/10.1002/admi.201970151) was selected as Cover for Wiley "ADVANCED MATERIALS INTERFACES" journal!Congratulation to the authors! |
CERIC Highlights!
It's a pleasure to report that one of recent SENSOR manuscripts was selected as Highlights paper on CERIC website. This work entitled "Branch-like NiO/ZnO heterostructures for VOC sensing" was performed in collaboration with CERIC (Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium) facilities, reporting for the first time the synthesis of NiO/ZnO branch-like heterostructures by custom evaporation-condensation methods, for the fabrication of chemical sensing devices. Elisabetta Comini among 100 women scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
Elisabetta Comini has been selected among 100 women scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for her skills demonstrated through years of research in the area of materials science and nanotechnology. (http://100esperte.it) “Osservatorio di Pavia” and the association of journalists “Gi.U.Li.A.” have collected an online database of 100 women experts in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), an area historically not well represented by women but at the same time strategic for economic and social development of our country. (http://100esperte.it) Elisabetta Comini is among these experts for her skills demonstrated through years of research in the area of materials science and nanotechnology. The selection of the expert has been entrusted to GENDERS Centre (Gender & Equality in Research and Science), University of Milan, taking into account the number of publications and awards received, and meeting strict international evaluation criteria. The project has the main objective of increasing the visibility of women scientists in the Italian media. |
