NanoWire Arrays for Multifunctional Chemical Sensors

Realization of novel multifunctional chemical sensors with enhanced selectivity based on arrays of interacting semiconductor nanowires (NWs).

A new NW method for chemically assisted positioning of NWs will be developed and combined with electron beam lithography and focussed ion beam techniques.

The nanoscale dimension and the multifunctionality of the new device go far beyond the classical approach to chemical sensors, causing a breakthrough for nanoscience and nanotechnology.
