Estefanía Núñez Carmona


Estefanía Núñez Carmona was born on 7th July 1987 in Spain. She earned her degree in Biology from University of Seville in 2012, currently is a Ph.D Student at the University of Brescia, Department of Information Engineering. She is already in possess of a Ph.D in Food Science, Technology and Biotechnology from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia earned on March 2016 and entitled “Application of Nanowire gas sensor device for the quality control process in the food chain”.
She is also a Research associate at the CNR-INO Sensor Lab of the National Council of Research of Italy since 2013 for the development of novel application of sensors devices in Life Science field. Her research interest are: food safety, food microbiology, environmental monitoring and metal oxide nanowires gas sensors. Her research focuses on the application of metal oxide nanowires sensor device to the quality control process along the food chain. The target is to create a device able to provide a complete follow up to the “from farm to fork” chain.
E. Núñez has 15 publications in peer reviewed international journals, which got over 48 citations. His Hirsch index (H-index) is 4 (Source: Google Scholar). E. Núñez is serving as peer reviewer for the international journals including Analytical Chemistry.
