Gurpreet Singh Selopal was born on 08 April, 1987 in Punjab (Village Pandori Khatrian) India.
He received his ‘Bachelor of Science’ degree from Punjabi University Patiala in 2008; He earned his ‘Master of Science’ degree in applied physics (Specialization in Nano Science & technology) from Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar Punjab India – with a thesis entitled “Effect of doping Al2O3and SiO2 on thermal and optical properties of bismuth aluminoborate and bismuth alumino borosilicate glasses”. He awarded with DST fellowship during Master of Science at Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar Punjab-India.
He worked as a Project fellow at Panjab University Chandigarh (India), under University Grant Commission (UGC) research project entitled “Dielectric study of Chalcogenide glasses for electronics uses”.
He got experienced in preparation of Chalcogenide amorphous materials doped with In, Ga, Ag etc and characterizations of these amorphous materials for electronic device applications.
He joined as Doctoral student in Materials for Engineering at the University of Brescia, Department of Information Engineering, CNR-IDASC SENSOR Laboratory since January 2012 .
His research activities mainly focus on the improvement of the functional properties of third generation excitonic solar cells (Dye and Quantum Dot Sensitized Solar cells) with the application of new Engineered Nano-Structured Materials.
